Revolutionizing Praline Packaging: LuvIt Rocks by BLOK

Reimagining Pralines for the Youth: A Blend of Sophistication and Trendiness

In a bold move to appeal to young adults, BLOK has redesigned the praline packaging for LuvIt, an Indian youth-oriented chocolate brand. The design, inspired by precious gemstones and jewelry boxes, strikes a balance between sophistication and trendiness, making pralines more appealing to the younger demographic.

With the praline market traditionally dominated by middle-aged customers, BLOK faced the challenge of creating a design that would resonate with young adults. The solution? A tongue-in-cheek pun that suggests great taste and alludes to the precious gem-inspired shapes of the pralines: LuvIt Rocks. The boxes, available in three distinct colors, are designed to mimic jewelry boxes, further enhancing the preciousness of the pralines within.

Gold foil stamping was used to create a custom typographic brand pattern on the packaging, with letters playfully wrapping around the box. Spot UV and embossing were used for the LuvIt logo label area, adding a touch of elegance to the design. The result is a packaging design that is both trendy and sophisticated, appealing to the sensibilities of young adults.

The praline collection offers four distinct flavors: coffee, lemon, strawberry, and hazelnut. The boxes are envisioned as ideal gifts for friends, family, or dinner parties, and are available for purchase at major retail stores across India. The design project, undertaken in Mumbai, India, took place from May to August 2016.

BLOK's innovative approach to praline packaging has not gone unnoticed. The design was awarded Silver in the A' Packaging Design Award in 2017, a prestigious accolade given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The award is a testament to BLOK's ability to balance trendy youth sensibilities with the sophistication of pralines, creating a design that truly rocks.

With LuvIt Rocks, BLOK has successfully reimagined praline packaging for the youth, proving that with a bit of creativity and a keen understanding of the target demographic, it's possible to make even the most traditional of products appeal to a younger audience.
